The Arunachalam Trust was founded to provide a high standard of education to disadvantaged children living in the communities surrounding Arunanchala and to promote medical and environmental awareness to community residents through education and assistance.
Learn About the School
A School in the name of Sri Ramana Maharshi provides quality education to disadvantaged children in the rural communities surrounding the sacred mountain Arunachala. Established in 1988, the school is funded by the nonprofit Arunachalam Trust that was founded in the guiding light of the world proclaimed sage Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
In 1988 Sri Ramana School was founded with only six children. The school has grown more with students ranging from 4 to 16 years of age. In addition to receiving an excellent education, students learn to become responsible and morally honorable young adults. Each of the science, mathematics, computer science, social studies, moral science and geography curriculums are taught in English and students also receive instruction in their native language.
Help Support the School
Environmental Project: Each year students plant fruit bearing trees in one of the neighboring communities to help preserve and restore the local environment. During the project, students learn about plants and how to care for them. Residents of the community also benefit from the project by receiving an additional source of income from the gathered fruit.
Consider a SponsorshipMedical Project: Each year students learn about one major health concern affecting their community and are taught about disease prevention and healthy living practices from medical professionals. Residents of the community benefit from the project by receiving health education and free immunizations or other medical assistance.

Many of the children cannot afford the school fees, books while others require school uniforms and transportation as well.
