New School Construction Update

New Sri Ramana School 01September 14

In the grace of Arunachala, the school construction is progressing favorably and consistently. The 1500-feet compound wall foundation (3 foot by 3 foot), which had been dug and filled with a gravel, cement and sand mixture, was finished on August 23. On September 14, the 3’ 6’’ stonewall attached to on the base foundation was finished.

The raising of the classroom pillars was set for an auspicious day—the morning of September 11. One pillar was erected followed by a simple puja.

The next aspect of the project is the construction of the basement level of the classrooms. For this work, 18 tons of iron rods, 40 loads of sand, 800 bags of cement and 30 units of blue metals (3/4” chips) will be needed. The project cost is roughly Rs. 20,000, 000. With the rainy season coming, the materials will need to be kept in dry storage. Currently, 1.5-inch chips for the pillars and for flooring are being produced.

Hopefully, your kind support and prayer will help finish the building construction in time for these disadvantaged children to continue their studies.
